What we Eat makes a Difference
Food either gives us health or kills us. What we eat makes a difference. Not too many years ago it was discovered that the natives of Australia who lived in the wild and survived on roasted meat, wild greens and berries had no High Blood Pressure, Heart Decease, Cholesterol, Cancer, or Diabetes. Some of those healthy folks were relocated into the main Australian cities and a year later, after adapting to the diet of fast food, sugar, white products, soft drinks, and salt, they too had the same ailments. It's definitely the food we eat that makes us sick. It stands to reason if we could hunt for our meat and collect our veggies and berries from the woods, we would be healthier. So keep this in mind when you shop ...pretend you are hunting.
In the photo above, Chicken, Carrots, Onions, Potatoes, Black Pepper, and Garlic, have been baked together in one pot.
Boil, Bake, or Broil your Meat
(1) Buy Lean Meat, there are no fat Deer, Birds, or Rabbits in the wild, because they don't lay around all day or get fattened up by
someone feeding them. They have to search and work for their food. Boil, Bake, or Broil your Meat. If you value your life don't eat Pork, or pork based products, or high salt content "Lunch Meats, and/or Hot Dogs".
Limit yourself to lean Beef "once a week", and no more. In the photo the beef was fried. See the grease draining onto the paper towel? In the photo to the right, there was no fat added to fry this meat, it made its own fat from the content inside. If you eat this, you get that yellowish, heavy, artery clogging lard in your veins. This results in artery blockages that leads to bypass surgery. Remember, Broil, Bake, or Boil, your food, and buy the leanest cuts of meat you can buy.
Try substituting ground Turkey and broiling it for a hamburger, or using it in Hamburger Helper or using it to make Chili. You can also buy Turkey Pork Chops, Turkey Ham, and Turkey Bacon. Although I haven't tried any of these I would guess they are high in salt content.
Healthy Choice is made especially for those of us who are watching our Heart Health. Healthy Choice sell snacks, desserts, breakfast, veggie dishes, pot pies and TV dinners, and they all taste delicious. Eat Fish, unbreaded, unfried. It is very good for you. Buy canned tuna packed in water, not packed in oil. Filets should be grilled, baked, or broiled. A squirt or two of lemon adds a salty and tangy taste. If you must rarely eat something breaded, eat less of it.
A clever way to make healthy Chicken Breast patties is:
Dip the meat in an egg and milk mixture, roll it in Special K cereal, and bake at 350 f until it's done. Tastes great with baked Sweet Potato and Asparagus, fruit, bread, drink.
